Hi, I'm Helene Brennan, a painter and photographer based on the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry, Ireland. The wild beauty of this landscape—the rugged coastline, the changing moods of the sea, and the vibrant skies - has been my greatest source of inspiration in recent times. I have also painted landscapes of several different countries which are shown in this website.
I trained in Fine Art in Manchester, but it's the Irish landscape that has truly shaped my creative journey. In my paintings, I often use oils and oil pastels to explore colour, light, and texture, aiming to capture both the power and calm of nature. Photography allows me to approach this from another angle, recording fleeting moments—the soft veil of mist, the drama of shifting skies, or the quiet detail of a small scene.
My work has been exhibited in many places over the years, but these days I prefer to show it in my own gallery near Dingle, where I enjoy meeting people and sharing the stories and inspirations behind my pieces. My paintings and photographs have found homes in private collections and have been featured in publications, something I value deeply.
At the heart of everything I create is a desire to celebrate the beauty of this unique place and to invite others to feel the same sense of connection and atmosphere that inspires me every day.
