High Atlas Village In the High Atlas Mountains, there were many Berber Villages with stone houses perced in steps on top of each other. This village is typical of many in that area. On the mountain sides, the terraces used for agriculture showed signs of erosion and many had already collapsed, leaving the bare stone, as the arable areas shrink away.
