The famous and iconic Skellig Rocks, viewed from St. Finian's Bay, South Kerry, also known as the Iveragh Peninsula. The rock on the right is Skellig Michael, once home to a community of monks, who built an amazing village of round, beehive shaped stone dwellings, and is now visited by thousands of tourists every year. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. It has been used by Lucas Films as a set for Star Wars movies. The rock on the left is an important Birdwatch Ireland nature reserve, being of major importance because of its huge population of gannets - about 35,000 pairs.
