This a much photographed landmark, also known as Ballinskelligs Castle, it is located at Balinskelligs in South Kerry. This 16th Century Tower was built by McCarthy Mór to protect the area from pirates, and it is believed it was also to collect taxes from ships. McCarthy Mór built several of these towers in the Cork and Kerry area
